The Recipe

1 c Friendship starter

1/4 c Butter or margarine

1 c Sugar

1 Egg; beaten

1/2 c Milk

2 c Pinto beans; * see note

1 ts Vanilla

1 c All-purpose flour

1 ts Baking soda

1/2 ts Salt

1 ts Cinnamon

1/2 ts Cloves

1/2 ts Allspice

2 c Apples; diced

1/2 c Nuts; chopped

1 c Raisins

Glaze:; * see note Don't spill the beans about the surprise ingredient * Measure 2 cups of cooked and mashed beans. Cream butter sugar and egg. Add rest of ingredients except for apples nuts and raisins. Mix well then fold in apples nuts and raisins. Pour into a well greased 10 inch tube pan or bundt pan. Bake 375 for 45 minutes or until done. Cool in pan for 5 minute before removing. Glaze and decorate with maraschino cherry halves and chopped nuts. * Glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar 1/4 tsp vanilla 1 T butter, melted 1 1/2 tsp milk blend all ingredients together and beat until smooth Pat Dwigans -----
