1 lb Dried pinto beans 6 c Cold water 1/2 lb Salt pork -- cut up 1 lb Lean chuck steak -- cut into 1 " cubes 1 ea Red chili peppers or.... 1/2 ts Crushed red pepper 1 ea Medium onions -- chopped 2 Cloves garlic -- minced 6 oz Tomato paste 1 1/2 tb Chili powder 1 t Salt 1 t Cumin seed 1/2 ts Marjoram Soak beans in water overnight. Brown salt pork in skillet or slow-cooking pot with browning unit. In slow-cooking pot, combine soaked beans (with water), browned pork, and remaining ingredients.
